Frank's obituary
Frank Mitchell Wilner, 83, of Concord, NH, passed away on September 28, 2021. A longtime Concord resident, Frank was the son of William Wilner and Dorothy Mitchell Wilner. He is survived by his wife, Beatrice McManus Wilner, son David Wilner of Prague, Czech Republic, daughter Allison Wronski Wilner of Manchester, NH and son Thomas Wilner of Fort Worth, TX; as well as five grandchildren - Rick, Scott, Rachel, Riley and Eden.
Frank was involved in baseball his whole life; playing for Concord High and in the Sunset League. He played competitive softball into his 50's. He also coached Little League and Babe Ruth League in concord; serving several years as Babe Ruth League president.
Frank's passion was jazz music. He hosted his own radio show, Portaits in Blue & Green on WNHN up until the time of his death. Frank loved collecting music, amassing an impressive jazz library. He especially enjoyed communicating with jazz artists and attending live concerts.
For many years, Frank and Bea served as foster parents to countless kids from the Concord area.
Frank was a graduate of Concord High School (class of 1956), Boston University and the University of Connecticut. He spent his professional career as a Social Worker; mostly at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Manchester.
He enjoyed a good sandwich and was very particular about how one wears a baseball cap. He'll be missed by all who knew him.
There will be a celebration of life get together next week. Allison, Dave or Tom can be contacted for details.
