Frank's obituary
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Mr. Frank Tom on December 1, 2025. Born on January 24, 1941, Frank led a full and rich life, filled with love, laughter, and purpose that left an indelible impact on all who knew him.
Frank was predeceased by his beloved wife, Ethel Tom, and his sister, Helen Shimizu. His memory is cherished by his children, Christina Tom, Matthew Tom, and Robert Low. Frank’s legacy also continues through his brother, Jack Tom, and sisters, Elizabeth Tom and Lily Mistretta. His son-in-law Nate Gaylinn, daughter-in-law, Tamara Low, granddaughter, Remington Low, and grandson, Thomas Low, also survive him.
Eternal in his faith, Frank was a regular attendee at Sunset Church. His love for his community was evident in his work as a dedicated volunteer at the Chinese Historical Society of America and a committed participant at the Flying Eagles organization.
Frank had a keen appreciation for the arts; his favorite being Chinese Brush Painting. He found joy in the melodies of the San Francisco Symphony, which he not only enjoyed but also fervently supported. His passions extended to causes close to his heart, which included the Fine Art Museums of San Francisco and the California State Parks Association.
Frank was a beacon of positivity and goodwill in the lives of his family, friends, and community. His life was a testament to the values he held dear, and his influence will continue to guide and inspire those who were fortunate to have known him.
May Frank rest in peace as we remember him with gratitude and honor his memory in our hearts. His life was a courageous journey that enriched those who were part of it, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and commitment to service.
