I was so saddened to hear of Frank's passing. I worked with Frank at Lake Region Middle School. Frank was such a kind and gentle man. He loved the students and they loved him! I was also one of the lucky ones who got to spend time with Frank at his home in Stonington eating lobster and dancing on the deck, what a great memory! Frank will be missed by so many. Just imagine what it might be like if we had more Frank Setters in the world...
Frank was one of the best humans I've ever known and he helped my daughter get through a particularly difficult time in middle school. He was inspirational as a friend and co-worker. One of my favorite get-a-way trips was when several of us who were Frank's former co-workers went to Stonington for a visit. We ate lobster at his home and danced on the deck afterwards!
I keep Frank's words of wisdom near in my heart and use his advice daily in my teaching practice. At Lake Region Middle School, he was an outstanding example of supporting students with a combination of empathy and consistency. To me, he was a true mentor. Thank you for being a light in our world, Frank. In my mind you will forever be right there singing a tune as you round the corner of a school hallway.
Frank was a really good man who made other folks around him want to become their best selves. He was a great example of how to be. He was a crusader for what was right. He had respect for all the beings in the world and met everyone where they were when he found them. Frank found the way to lighten the load of, or enlighten all the souls he encountered, he was successful because he was sincere. I'm sorry to all who knew him for your loss. Good bye, Wendy
