Francis Edward Opett, age 82, passed on January 5, 2021 in Port St Lucie Florida after a long illness leading to complications and death. Frank was born the son of John Edward and Agnes Soy Opett on November 7, 1938 in Dunmore Pennsylvania. He had two years of high school but a solid education in hard work in the school of hard won achievement. He rose in his work from a lot boy to the New and Used Car Reconditioning Manager for the largest Chevrolet dealership in Western New York. His keen ability to appraise automobiles for reconditioning and resale was legendary in his field; his work ethics, capability and honesty superb. He was a widely recognized authority on all things automotive and often settled arguments with his respected opinion. He served honorably in the United States Army on the front lines in Europe in the aftermath of the Cuban Missile Crisis. He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 60 years, Virginia Opett, his loyal and loving son Christopher and his long time partner Patrick Geair who was also like a son to him; brother and sister in law Victor and Kathy Lippa who adored him; numerous nieces and nephews and grandchildren. Frank was a beloved son of the Lippa family, and his interment will be in the family estate at Venice Memorial Gardens.
