Frank's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Frank Licari Jr., a beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, friend and mentor. Born on October 13, 1956, Frank left us too soon on August 9, 2023. His life that spanned over six decades was one filled with laughter, love and adventure.
Frank is survived by his sister, Gina Licari, and his sons, Joseph Licari Sr. and Jesse Licari, who were his pride and joy. His greatest accomplishment, he often stated, were his boys. Only after his one true love, his wife, Jane Licari, whom he held close in his heart until his last days.
A celebration of Frank's life will be held on October 14, 2023 at 9:00 AM at the scenic Carney Island at Lake Weir; a place he frequented and loved. Friends and family are invited to join in remembering and celebrating a life well lived.
Frank was a graduate of the College of Central Florida Ocala Campus, receiving his degree in 1995 for welding. He went on to build firetrucks at E-One for 12 years. He was a man of distinct tastes and interests. His favorite foods were steak and lobster, and he could hunt, kill and prepare both of them, very well! Frank was a fan of Pink Floyd, The Beatles and everything old school rock. He loved a good action/adventure/military film. His favorite being "We Were Brothers". He always won at Ping Pong. But his favorite sports were fishing, hunting and shooting.
He was best known for his innovative, witty, dependable, and respectful personality. A true cat lover, he would spend a lot of time brushing his long haired Persian, Picasso. He was passionate about creating inventions, sketching his ideas and sending them off for patents.
Frank's favorite way to exercise was weight lifting, and he loved spending time on the water or at the gun range. His favorite color was green, a testament to his love for nature and the great outdoors. Frank was a well-traveled man, but he was happiest when he was close to home, especially when watching his grandchildren grow up.
Frank leaves behind a legacy of old school respect and life lessons taught the old fashioned way. Among the many lessons he shared, the one that resonated the most was "Have a contingency plan". This, along with his many other pearls of wisdom, will be carried on by those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Frank will sorely be missed by all those who knew and loved him. As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate a life well lived, full of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Rest in peace, Frank.
