Frank's obituary
On February 25, 2023, Frank Cirruzzo Jr. of Riverhead NY passed away peacefully after a prolonged battle with vascular dementia.
Frank was born on August 5, 1930, to Margaret and Frank Cirruzzo in NYC. After graduating Haaren High School in Manhattan, he went on to college, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy, from Ithaca College.
In 1959, Frank met Annabelle at NYS rehabilitation hospital in Haverstraw, NY. A year later, they got married and eventually moved out to Eastern Long Island where he started his career at Riverhead Central Suffolk Hospital (PBMC) as the resident Physical Therapist, launching a 40-year career in Physical Therapy and eventually starting a private practice out of his home in Riverhead.
Frank and Annabelle went on to have two children, Douglas, and Ann Michelle. The family spent many summer days on the beach where Frank enjoyed reading the newspaper and enjoying the peaceful sunsets at Peconic Bay and Cupsogue Beach in Westhampton. He was a history buff as well, filling his shelves at home with books about American and European history. As a family, they spent much of their spare time taking family ski trips and visiting numerous historic battlefields, and enjoyingroadway plays
In 1995, after helping many friends and residents of the north and south shore of Long Island, Frank retired and spent his time traveling the world and exploring new places. Frank and Annabelle eventually moved to Moriches, enjoying the peacefulness of a bayside community next to the water and the wildlife that surrounds it.
Frank is survived by his loving wife, Annabelle of Moriches, NY; his daughter Ann Michelle, and her husband Bill Cassel from East Patchogue, NY and his son, Douglas, and his wife Laurene and daughter Julianna from Colorado Springs, CO along with nieces, nephews, and cousins.
There will be a celebration of life at a later date this Spring.
The family would like you to honor Frank by spending some time traveling with your family and friends, or walking the beaches of eastern long island.
