Francisco was an incredible force at the high school. He was such a kind, generous person who made me feel welcome there from Day 1. I'll never forget that one week he brought in pupusas for me and another teacher to enjoy, just because. I think of him often.
Francisco's kindness and care to the staff and students of Chelsea High school is a clear indication of how much he loved and cared for you, his family. He also talked about his family (and friends that were like family!) in almost every conversation I had with him. I, who only knew him a little bit, will miss him and I send my deepest condolences to you.
My sincerest condolences to the whole Pena family on the loss of your amazing patriarch. In all the discussions I had with Fransisco, family was at the center of his heart and mind always. He would share so many photos of his kids (I taught Marvin years ago at CHS), grandkids and wife, everyone always happy and usually fishing, hunting, cooking or feasting! What struck me most about Francisco was the incredible richness of the life he built here from his own dreams for his prosporous and loving family. May he rest in peace with God after working so hard and always with kindness among so many overlapping circles of community.
In the short time I had the pleasure of knowing MR. Peña. He was always positive. Showing me family pictures and giving me advice. Forever smiling. A genuine man. We share same birthday. Capricorn. I’m blessed to have crossed your path. Rest in Paradise.
My heart hurts for every person who was lucky enough to have met Francisco. I will do my best to honor his memory by spreading the kindness and joy that he shared with me each morning. I will miss him so, so much.
What a terrible loss for the Chelsea High School community, we are so saddened by your loss Francisco. Te hecheremos de menos Francisco! Recordamos a usted como un hombre con mucho amor para su familia. Siempre mostraba fotos de sus nietos y habló mucho de ellos. Que descansa en paz y un abrazo fuerte para su familia.
Francisco was such a kind, gentle man. He always had time to stop and talk--and always encouraged me to practice speaking Spanish. He was a wonderful teacher, patient and encouraging. Seeing him made my day brighter and happier. Francisco brought joy wherever he went, whether it was in the hallways at CHS or on the dance floor at the harbor cruise. He loved life and he loved people. He had a gift for making people feel seen and heard. I am deeply saddened by his loss, and my heart goes out to his family. He was a special man, one of a kind, and he will be missed.
I will miss you so much Francisco! Ever morning when I would walk into the building you would greet me with the biggest smile y con un "Que tenga un buen dia".
Francisco, you always made me smile. I enjoyed our talks. You were always so kind to me and I will never forget what a wonderful person you were! Que Dios bendiga su familia!

Francisco was one of the warmest and kindest people I have met in my life. I am going to miss--I already miss-- our daily interactions. He had a gentle and loving way of reminding students at CHS to do the right thing, and they responded to him like a much-loved uncle. What a loss to the entire community.
