Today is Ray's birthday. I used to work with Ray and our coworkers would always throw a big birthday party because Ray, me and Rick Lane had our birthdays this week, all within 4 days of each other.

I met Mr. Provencher while coaching his grandson Matthew when I was 18 and coaching my first classic team. He was at every game, many practices and was always happy, smiling, and talking to anyone he came across. I always appreciated as a young coach the fact that he not only supported his grandson but all of the players and supported me. He became not just Matthew’s grandfather but a friend who I always looked forward to seeing at the fields. I will miss our conversations and seeing his smiling face around the fields.
