Francis (Frank)'s obituary

Francis (Frank) Chester Radzinski was born to Fredrick Lincoln and Estelle Madeline Radzinski in San Francisco CA on May 1, 1937. He was one of eight children; Mickey Kennelley, Estelle Romaine, Georgia Conklin, Jackie Radzinski, Marlene Johnson, George Radzinski and Marion Curtis.
The Radzinski family was a large and proud Irish clan. Frank boasted on having 11 uncles and 3 aunts on the Radzinski side. His Grandmother, Rose Meehan Radzinski, was mentioned in "Ripley's Believe it or Not" as having the most children in a war zone during World War II. She had 10 sons and 1 daughter in the service. Rose traveled around the country selling war bonds until the war ended.
Frank attended parochial school until high school where he transferred to Polytechnic High. Upon graduation, he joined the Air Force and spent his enlistment in Germany and Africa 1957 through 1959. Upon his discharge, he moved to Texas and finally settled in Oklahoma City, OK. Frank spent most of his career working for the Oklahoma Dept. of Public Safety in the field of refrigeration where he supervised the convict work release program. While at the Dept. of Public Safety, the April 9th, 1996 Oklahoma City Bombing took place. Frank helped set up the triage center for the wounded at the bombing site. He received a commendation award from the Oklahoma City Police Commissioner for his invaluable assistance during this tragic event. He retired from the Highway Dept. in 2000. Frank and wife Nina, with beloved friends, Patrick and Lena Hiddleston took many wonderful trips on their Harley Davidson motorcycles during those retirement years. Frank and Nina relocated to San Marino Retirement Village in Westminster CO to be near their daughters, Rhonda and Carla, in 2016. As Frank's health began to fail, he moved to Clear Creek Care Center in August 2018 where he died peacefully in his sleep at 8am on March 25th, 2019, at the age of 81.
Frank is survived by Nina Latham Radzinski, his wife just short of 45 years, step-children Randy and wife Joanne Wilson, Rhonda and husband Michael Thomas, and Carla and husband Gary Pettenger. He also has 5 grandsons, Anthony and Jason Wilson, Clint and Jay Williams and Joseph Pettenger, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Frank had many nieces and nephews and adored them all but was especially close to nephews Steve Conklin, Jeffrey Latham Johnson, Jordan Latham, Brett and Alan Moss, nieces Chelsea Latham, Michelle Owens and great nephew Daniel Owens. Frank is also survived by sisters Mickey Kennelley, Estelle Romaine and Marion Curtis. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
