Francine was one of my biggest influences in dance. I grew up a bun head, hardcore ballerina but I always had a longing for something more. As a ballerina I didn’t train in any other form I never knew anything else and I was afraid that if I did stray, I would fall behind and lose a part of myself. Francine encouraged me to try and instead helped me find a new part of myself. She pushed my boundaries and welcomed me into dance as something that I could always rediscover for myself. When I wanted to try contemporary and tricks she did privates with me and always made me feel like I could accomplish everything I wanted. From the time I was 12 until this very day, I trusted her with my big decisions in dance. She went to UCLA and suggested I audition. She helped me create my audition solos and again built my confidence that I could achieve anything. She made me realize that all you need is a passion for art and a passion for people; Communicating messages, creating change and believing in the power of being a strong woman, a strong Filipino woman and a strong presence in everyone’s life. I would not be where I am without her support and confidence in me. Every time I get on a stage I remember how she pushed me to go further. And I know she will be giving me that same feeling from heaven. I will always know she is cheering me on.

Annika and Sophie were in the same grade at Allen Elementary as Thalia and Jordan.  So we first met this incredible family back in 2004.  We had an immediate connection through our love of dance!  My girls first met met the ‘Famous Francine’ when the did a workshop at Teresa’s dance studio.  This lady lit up a room like a firework!  We didn’t stay in physical touch but followed each other on social media. I loved seeing her posts about her and her bestie nieces and Jordan.  I’m so happy there is now a wonderful dance inspiration in Heaven.
Sending all my love to the Maigue Family.

Lung Force Walk: Will Forever Be on Team Francine

My condolences to Francine's beloved family. I first met Francine when she was Miss Philippines of San Diego County 1998 and we would often attend various community functions together, in support of our community. Later in life, Francine & Theresa stepped in selflessly, to lead production and dance for a program we hosted for the community, Miss Philippines CA. We spent a few weekends together leading up to this event, and each time those of us involved were in awe of the beauty, talent, and heart these amazing sisters (and all the kiddos!) put into creating a spectacular show.

While our paths diverged as we grew more into adulthood, her fearless work in the community continued. I followed her regularly on social media, staying connected, cheering each other on in life. My favorite messages were from Francine, her heartfelt celebratory or happy birthday messages. She was a genuine person who loved everyone. I'm so grateful to have been able to experience her light during her time with us. I will always remember her for her kindness, her talent, her beauty, and her HUGE heart. Maraming salamat sis for your love and your leadership. Rest peacefully sister queen. Your legacy continues through your wonderful family and all of us whose lives you impacted for the better. You will be missed tremendously. -Che & Xander White

Francine always had a smile and such a positive attitude. She was always very grateful and kind to our staff. On one occasion she provided lunch for our whole team after completing a treatment course. Francine and her parents stayed for lunch and interacted with everyone. I will never forget her beautiful smile and kind words. It was my privilege being her nurse.
We pray for the peace of Francine’s parents, sister, brother-in-law, nieces, nephew. Her love lives on. Love Amanda & Nayeli

Dear Maigue & Bendorf Family,

Putting into words what a tremendous loss losing Francine is, is nearly impossible. Putting into words the impact Francine had on her family, friends, San Diego, the world and ME, is also nearly impossible. The one thing that I will always remember is the genuine LOVE and limitless support Francine would offer. Not only me, but everyone! I met Francine when I was 15, through Miss Teresa. I was truly blessed to have this dynamic duo enter my life. From day one BOTH of them taught me everything I know about dance. The lessons that came along with the jazz and ballet technique were the most valuable ones. Especially Francine’s beautiful confidence lessons on how to always stand strong and believe in yourself. Like I said, it’s impossible to describe the feeling you had around Francine, but I always left her feeling so loved and empowered. I will be eternally grateful for our friendship, and the many gifts she gave me throughout her life. Especially the gift of choreographing the first dance for my wedding. She spent weeks working on beautiful choreography with Kelly and I, only so we could completely mess up that night. I remember she was watching from corner of the dance floor just smiling and clapping and laughing.  She wasn’t upset just happy she was able to help us. I will miss Francine dearly.  Sending love and peace to everyone grieving today and always.
