It was a blessing in disguise when the individual my mom booked for choreographing my debutante ball in 2012 (18th bday) father-daughter dance, solo dance, and cotillion dance was not able to proceed with the booking. This led us to you who ended up being the one to choreograph it all, which was the highlight of my debut. You and your family have always been so near and dear to our hearts. We miss you so much, and think of you so often. Thank you for being a part of our family as much as you made us a part of yours.  Sending you hugs and so much love today. Happy Happy Birthday 🥰
Francine was not just beautiful-she had a heart of gold. When I think of Francine I picture the lovely young woman as she danced to "Colors of the Wind" at CVHS. She was one of the most caring and kind people I know.
Sending love and hugs to her family,
Ms. Slade (CVHS-ASB 1988-2009)

Below is a written facebook post I shared in Jan 2020, when I was on my way to join the Lung Cancer Walk to be a part of TEAM FRANCINE. It's taken me some time to allow myself to process her passing, but I will always remember her for the fierce woman she was and will continue to be~ living in strong memory within my heart. <3.

While studying at UCLA Department of World Arts and Cultures/Dance as a dance major, I had a very special, talented and brilliant friend Francine Maigue. We were the FRANS- she- Francine, I- Franchesca. Francine lit the friggin' room up anywhere she went- the lecture hall, the dance studio, the social events, the dorms, the dining hall, THE STAGE!!! ( She was my dad's fave... all the time.) : )

It was ridiculous. ❤ Most of my best college memories involved her. She created a dance team/ ensemble appropriately titled OUTTA WAC. She was the director and choreographer and it was a born out of a need for dancers in the department to continue celebrating, rehearsing & choreographing in their favorite dance styles- jazz, contemporary, hip-hop and competitive dance.

I joined OUTTA WAC because I had such a strong desire to be a part of a team. These styles were new to me, not having studied them before nor had I had much experience as a competitive dancer, but soon realized that it was the coming together of each of our strengths (not weaknesses) that made this experience unforgettable.

If there is something I can say about Francine Maigue, it is that she has ALWAYS been an incredible LEADER and has ALWAYS created space for OTHERS.

She is a fighter, she is a warrior, she is a goddess and she will dance again! #TEAMFRANCINE ❤

Here is a photo of us from our UCLA dance days. I was so proud to wear the swag/attire she designed and ordered for us to wear proudly on and off campus. I love you my Fran. <3 Rest in POWER. ~ Franchesca Marisol Cabrera

She was God's perfect living example of kindness
Dearest Francine, you were one of a kind. I will never forget my childhood memories, dancing away with you and your sister. May you watch over us as you reign from the heavens above. Rest in paradise, amazing soul. Much love ~ Arlynn

Francine loved a great show. Either she was the performer, director, choreographer, or awestruck audience member. I am glad to have been there a few times with her.

In college she asked me to work with her dance group. She had the opportunity to perform a show at UCLA. She introduced me to the director, then they asked me design and build sets for the show. I greatly appreciated the opportunity. I had moved to LA to be apart of theater and to meet performance artists like Francine. I had a great time building and painting, my therapy. She then told me the show was going to the Lincoln Center in NY. I could not believe it. She was about to perform in NY and my work was going with her.

I had been so fortunate to be apart of that show, and a few others while we were attending college. I have been involved in theater since. My family loves theater as much as much as I do. My wife and son are the performers, and I am stage crew. I always enjoyed telling Francine about the projects I've been involved in. She was always so happy to listen. She would share her latest as well. I will miss her...she will continue to inspire me as an artist.

I was so sorry to hear about Francine's passing. She was such a [talented ] and [ caring ] person.
Prayers for the peaceful repose of the soul of Francine Maigue, as well as for strength & comfort for the bereaved family.-From her FYLPRO family.
I found some video I recorded to share.

Francine had been the heart and soul in our community. She never said NO to help out in our #FilAmVote Campaign to increase Filipino American registered voters. Not only that, she always cheered everyone even at her most difficult times. We will miss her smile, fierceness, and deep commitment to serve the Filipino and greater San Diego community. Our hearts and prayers go out to her loved ones 💙 Rest in Peace, our angel Francine. Until we all meet again. ~ Tita Myrna
