Frances Mitchell Dial, 73, passed away on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York. She was born in Charlotte on April 27, 1948 to George Linwood Mitchell, Jr. and Frances Moseley Mitchell. She lost her mother to polio in September of 1948. In November of 1949, George married Harriet Wilcox, who was mother to Fran for the remainder of her life.
