Frances's obituary
Frances Lee Cox, 87, passed away on Saturday December 3, 2022, surrounded by family.
Born June 16, 1935, she was the daughter of James and Mary Mason. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Becky Morgan, two brothers, Carl and Charles Mason, her infant son Ronald Lee Cox and her best friend Eleanor Bowlin.
On any given day, you could find Frances in her sewing room at her home crafting a quilt for a loved one. These quilts were her art, an expression of her love. Each piece of cloth was carefully selected. She had a knack for sewing, but not just quilts. Frances carefully stitched love, compassion, and generosity into the lives of everyone she knew. She threaded laughter, unconditional love and joy into every holiday, birthday and family gathering. Her legacy lives on not only in her quilts that keep us warm, but in the seams of who we are today.
Frances held many titles throughout her lifetime, but it was clear “Mom” and “Granny” were her favorite. She devoted her life to her family. She is survived by her two children, Timothy Cox (Jan) of Leicester, NC and Lee Ann Bray of Hendersonville NC, four granddaughters; Stephanie Rich (Ian), Heather Roberts (Ronald), Courtney Candler (Josh), and Kayla Bray Avery (Josh) and 12 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Good News Baptist Church in Candler on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 2pm, the family invites all those who were touched by Frances’ kindness to join them.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Four Seasons Hospice in honor of Frances are appreciated.
