Frosty's obituary
Forrest "Frosty" Cobb, age 92, of Spirit Lake, Iowa, passed away [date]. Left to cherish his memory are his three daughters and their husbands: Cindy and Mark Mammen of Sioux City, Iowa, Cay and Dee Jay Donlin of Orange City, Iowa, and Carla and Brent Dyhrkopp of Graettinger, Iowa; daughter-in-law: Becky Cobb of Knoxville, Iowa; 8 grandchildren: Stacy (Jonathan) Blum, Stephanie (Andy) Myers, Ayla (Nate) Donlin Koch, Kylie (Donald) Martens, Christopher (Jen) Cobb, Kate (Jeff) Cobb Kampa, Kimberly (Brett) Nielsen, and Cody (Ashley) Dyhrkopp; 19 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Sharon McCraw and Lavonne (Larry) Watkins; and several nieces and nephews.
Frosty grew up in Tipton, Iowa, where he attended Tipton High School. He graduated from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. On August 3, 1952, he married Delores (Dee) Bristley of Conrad, Iowa. Frosty served in the US Air Force from 1954 to 1962, during which time, they lived in several different cities across the United States and in Germany. They were blessed with 5 children and settled in LeMars, Iowa, where Frosty taught 9th grade English and coached for 25 years before retiring in 1991.
He was active in playing handball and softball and also enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, camping, daily walks, cards, board games and singing around the campfire at his beloved lake home, but most of all spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his wife Dee and two sons, Craig and Kyle. Although Frosty endured some heartbreaks, he lived life to the fullest. He had a terrific smile, a quick wit and a legacy of laughter and joy.
Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00am, a private family memorial service will be from 10:00-11:00am, at Robinson Funeral Home in Spirit Lake, Iowa, followed by a family burial at Lake View Gardens Cemetery, in Spirit Lake, Iowa.
