Rick's obituary
Floyd enjoyed woodworking and was an amateur lover of Florida botany, always with a dog by his side for his frequent nature walks. He was a lifelong student, and enjoyed studying Chinese characters and delving into philosophy and religion. Among his many different professional experiences, he was a talented teacher, most notably as a professor of English at Kongju National University in South Korea and as a tutor and manager of the Learning Lab at the State College of Florida in Bradenton.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Gwen Richey, his four daughters and their husbands: Penelope and Johnny Kim of Seoul, South Korea; Amanda and Jason Bailey of Indianapolis, Indiana; Chanda and Nicolo Mangiaracina of St. Petersburg, Florida; and Hilary and Andrew Guseman of Parrish, Florida along with fourteen grandchildren; as well as his sister, Patricia Watkins of Bradenton, Florida; his brother, Walter Richey of Bradenton, Florida; and their families.
