

Floyd's obituary
Mr. Floyd F. Kramer, age 92, of Cedar Crossing, died Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at Oxley Park Health and Rehab in Lyons after an extended illness. He was born January 30, 1931, in Higgston, as a child moved to the Center Community, and attended Center School and Vidalia High School. He joined the U.S. Army in 1951 and served two years. After his military service, he moved to Bloomingdale where he lived several years, working as an insurance agent and returned to Toombs County in 1974. He retired in 1996 from the Southern Company at Edwin I. Hatch Plant as Security Supervisor. He attended Cedar Crossing Baptist Church and was a member of American Legion in Vidalia and Georgia Power Ambassadors. He enjoyed fishing, word puzzles, watching sports, and he was a man with a generous heart and gentle spirit. Preceding him in death were his parents, Senator F. Kramer and Ruby Mae Powell Kramer; and five siblings, Foster Kramer, Tom Kramer, Barbara Kramer, Jeanette Kramer Bates, and Joanne Kramer Ovens.
His family includes his wife of sixty-six years, Lucy Kramer; two sons, Keith Kramer and Melvin Kramer and wife Vicki, all of Cedar Crossing; one daughter-in-law, Tonya Kramer of Vidalia; four grandchildren, Keisha Kramer Powell and husband Derek, Ethan Kramer and wife Hali, Jodi Kramer and Jeremy Kramer; four great-grandchildren, Landon, Natilyn, Sawyer, and Caroline; two brothers, Billy Kramer and wife Shelby, and Dale Kramer and wife Ellen, all of the Center Community; one sister, Doris Kramer Williams of Hawaii; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
A graveside funeral service will be Friday morning, February 24th, at 11:00 at Lakeview Memorial Gardens with Pastor Ronnie Saxon, Pastor Reece Mincey and Pastor Melvin Kramer officiating.
