Florence's obituary
She was born in Scranton, PA, and moved to New Jersey in her twenties. She then moved to Miami, FL, where she stayed for over forty years until she moved to Iselin with her family five years ago. Florence had a life-long career with Eastern Airlines, which allowed her to travel extensively over the years. She was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Lillian Held, and sisters Betty Stahl and Alberta Kuehner of Pennsylvania. Surviving are her son Dale Wolff and daughter-in-law Betty of Iselin; grandson Brian Wolff of Iselin; granddaughter Dana Wolff of Woodbridge; and nieces and nephews in Pennsylvania and Connecticut.
Florence loved to travel and did so right up until she retired. She loved adventures and visited many countries on six of the seven continents. She was a devout member of her Baptist church where she attended services multiple times a week and volunteered her time when able to. She liked to stay active and enjoyed walking on the beach while living in Miami. Florence was an avid crafter and enjoyed making crosses and Christmas ornaments. She loved baseball and rooting for the Boston Red Sox, reading Jan Karon novels, and doing puzzles of any kind.
The family would like to thank Haven Hospice of JFK for all of their in-home support, care, and guidance during this tough time.
Florence is being cremated, per her request and there will be no services at this time. Memorial contributions can be made, in her name, to the Alzheimer’s Association or American Cancer Society.
