Felino's obituary

In Loving Memory of Felino Rubio Acampado Jr.

February 1, 1934 – October 10, 2025

Felino Rubio Acampado Jr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, peacefully passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love, generosity, and quiet strength. Born and raised in Manila, Philippines, Felino lived a life filled with laughter, purpose, and devotion to his family. In 2008, he made the United States his new home, settling in San Antonio, Texas, where his kindness and gentle humor continued to touch everyone around him.

Felino was known for his warm spirit and easy smile. He was a man who led by example, hardworking yet humble, deeply family oriented, and admired for his generosity. His greatest joy was gathering his loved ones around the table, sharing the food he so skillfully prepared, and watching the people he loved most enjoy a meal made with his hands and heart. His passion for cooking and his simple love for walks along the airport tarmac reflected his appreciation for life’s quiet, everyday moments.

A devoted husband to Teresita Acampado, Felino is survived by his children Allan and his late wife Mabel, Justin and Josh and their daughter Genevieve, Cecilia and Ramon, Vanessa and her children Chase, Ava, Elektra, and TN’S-E, Teresa and her children Kaelen, Elisa, and Neil, and Moraya. His family was his pride and his reason for everything, and they, in turn, will forever carry the strength, humor, and compassion he passed on to them.

Felino’s legacy is one of quiet leadership and unconditional kindness. He taught by doing, by being present, generous, and patient. He showed that true character is found not in what you say, but in how you love, how you serve, and how you make others feel safe in your presence. His life was a masterclass in humility, and his memory will live on in every act of kindness inspired by his example.

Felino will be remembered most for his ability to help others without judgment, for the way he saw the good in everyone and met life with grace, laughter, and a warm heart.

A Memorial Service will be held on October 20, 2025, at 12:00 noon at St. Polycarp Catholic Church in Garden Grove, California.

A Private Interment of Ashes will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Cypress, California.

Though he has gone ahead, Felino’s love remains a quiet light that continues to guide the family he built, the friends he cherished, and the lives he gently touched.
