Felicia's obituary

Chief (Mrs.) Felicia "Osogbo" Nwaugo Bello went home to Jesus on March 01, 2023, at age 74.

Felicia was born to Mr. James Okoro-Okah of Atani in Arochukwu, Abia State, and Haj. Salamatu Muhammad of Katsina in Katsina State on October 28, 1948, in Jos. As a child, she was full of life and loved by all.

Felicia met her husband, Peter Ugbodaga Bello, through her late elder brother, Kanu, in Jos. They eventually got married and went on to have seven children, [Esther, Richard, Faith, Edith, Kenneth,  Maureen and late Junior].

She was a serial entrepreneur who not only ventured into but left her marks in several trades and businesses. In the earlier stages of her marriage, she was a seamstress who mentored a number of other women she taught her skills to. When the demands of her growing family were becoming difficult to combine with her flourishing tailoring business, she chose her family and closed shop as a seamstress and trainer and focused on raising her children. In the interim, she found some things she could do from her kitchen and still make a modest income from while attending to her children. That gave birth to a snacks business she started. This was to be followed by a dealership with Coca-Cola and Jos International Breweries. In the early 1980s, her religious persuasion won, and she gave up her dealership with the brewery. Soon after, she muted the idea of starting a school. This she did in 1983, which eventually gave birth to Child Foundation Private School now Cactus-Field Private School in Jos. A school she operated until she became critically ill.

In addition to being a dedicated wife and loving mother, "Osogbo" also loved the Lord and served actively in church. In her younger days, she served in the choir. Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her.

She will be remembered for her passion for getting less privileged kids in school, offering varying degrees of scholarships to encourage the parents to bring the children to school. She was generous to a fault. The only needs she probably didn't make an effort to meet were needs not made known to her.

She is a believer in families working together and made efforts to bring different members of the larger and her immediate families together.

Nothing ever seemed to rattle her. Her faith is firm in God's ability to see her through any difficulties. And she would always echo it to the ears of all who came with troubled minds to seek her comfort and counsel.

Osogbo was an amazing cook. She could make one delicious meal after another all day, all week. She delighted in seeing her children and all within her walls well fed. Her kitchen was one of her favourite places in every house she ever lived in.

Osogbo joins AsaguOghena Peter Junior and late Margaret Emmanuel Mbaya ("daughter" and sister-in-law wrapped together) in Heaven. She is survived by her husband, Chief Peter Ugbodaga Bello, Mrs. Samira Abdulkarim, Richard Bello, Mrs. Faith Gyang, Mrs. Edith Lagi, Kenneth Bello, and Maureen Bello.  Her step-children: Mrs. Miriam Iyawe, Emmanuel Bello, Judith Bello, Mrs. Dorcas Adeh and George Bello.
