Fayette Kaplan, 100, of Las Vegas, passed away on October 2, 2024 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Fayette was born in Vineland, New Jersey to Jesse and Susan (Pollock) Morvay. She married Felix Kaplan on October 6, 1946 in Vineland, New Jersey. Fayette and Felix raised their family in Vineland.

She worked as a school teacher for many years in southern New Jersey. She was volunteer of the year for Northeast Florida Women’s Mammogram Program in 1995. After relocating to Las Vegas, she volunteered for over twenty-years between Summerlin and MountainView Hospital. In her later years, she spent much of her time with her grandchildren where she became better known as “bubbe”. She was a hardworker, devoted family woman and friend. She aimed to make people feel seen and loved, always remembering the little things.

Her children and grandchildren remember her as a kind, nurturing mother and grandmother who encouraged them to pursue their goals and live life to the fullest.

Fayette is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and her husband, Felix Kaplan. Fayette is survived by her son Zev Kaplan(and his wife Cassandra), her grandson Jacob Sutherland and her two granddaughters Sarah Sutherland and Felyssa Kaplan. Her departure leaves an unfillable void in their lives, yet they find comfort in the memories and everlasting love they shared.
