Fahmeeda Barkat, woman of faith, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025. Born on September 25, 1947, Fahmeeda lived a life marked by extraordinary strength, compassion, kindness, generosity and resilience.

Throughout her years, Fahmeeda’s unwavering faith in Christ and kindness touched the hearts of everyone who knew her. Her loving nature served as a guiding light for family and friends alike. She fought a good fight of faith and carried a warrior spirit in the face of life’s challenges, inspiring courage in those around her. She stood by her husband, Manzur Barkat, for 63 years through thick and thin, and was a constant pillar of support, encouraging her daughters to pursue the highest levels of education.

Fahmeeda is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Manzur Barkat; her four cherished daughters, Ruby, Zufi, Rufina, and Jenny; and her three sons-in-law, Jason, Khemraj, and Rizwan. She also leaves behind four precious grandchildren—Josiah, Joshua, Benjamin, and Eleanor—who will continue to carry her legacy of love, compassion, and strength.

Her presence will be deeply missed, but her memory and values will live on in the lives she shaped. Fahmeeda’s remarkable spirit and loving legacy will continue to inspire and uplift all who had the privilege to know her.
