Ezekiel's obituary

Ezekiel Wilson, 68, formerly of St. Helena Island and son of the late Florence H. Wilson entered into eternal rest at Memorial Health in Savannah, GA on Saturday, November 8, 2025. He is survived by his son Marcus Wilson and daughter Florence (Wilson) Timko. 

Ezekiel Wilson was an amateur and professional boxer in his early life working with Ron Lyle, Larry Holmes, Joe Frazier, Leon Spinks and many others as a sparring partner. 

He served as a United States Marine.

He was a boxing promoter, later becoming a civil rights activist setting federal precedent fighting in same race discrimination. 

He became the state chairman for AAU Powerlifting, helping kids in the surrounding communities, raising funds and taking them on trips around the country. 

He was an Author with his book entitled: The Eighth Round which he created and directed a short film of his story. 

He is missed by all. 

Memorial services and his celebration of life are to be on his heavenly birthday, April 24th 2026 at the Adam Street Baptist Church in St. Helena Island. 

The family needs time to mourn their loss. Please pray for the Wilson family.
