Evett Canada, was born Evett Colliner Scates on November 27, 1949, to Louisianians Audrey Lee and Earlene Marion Scates in Los Angeles, CA. She immediately brought joy into their family.
Evett attended Russell Elementary, Mount Vernon Junior High, and Los Angeles High School. She also studied various courses at Los Angeles City College.
