Evelyn's obituary
OBITUARY:
Evelyn Kay Myers Stack passed away at the age of 78, at her home In Delta, Colorado. Initially diagnosed with cancer several years ago, she inspired family and friends when she fought and went into remission. Unfortunately, the cancer returned and took her life quickly in the end. If you knew mom, you know she met her passing with a positive and uplifting attitude and was more than ready to be in the arms of her Heavenly Father and to join her family in Heaven.
She was born on June 23rd, 1944, in Orem, Utah and was the oldest child of Clifford Oliver and Marion Hardy Myers. She was joined by Sue, Robert (Bob) Gile and Sheila in the years to come. Her brother Jay Ivor joined the family when she was six years old. Other siblings were born to Clifford in later years after he remarried including Sonya, Shauna and Aaron Myers. The family also includes half brothers, Charles Hepworth and Ross and Bob Conk.
She married Thomas Edward Stack II in Ketchikan, Alaska and moved to Anchorage before divorcing Tom. She always recollected her last day in Ketchikan in September of 1974 and has wanted to return ever since. She later met and married her second husband, Larry Sims and divorced in the 1990’s.
She is preceded in death by both parents and many beloved family members including brother Bob Myers, sister Sue Zielke, sister Sheila Lozer and half-sister Sonya Myers.
She is survived by her brother Jay, and her three sons, Thomas Edward Stack II, Wendell Ebana Stack, and Joseph Gile Stack. Mom absolutely LOVED being a grandma and endured her grandbabies and welcomed every opportunity to be with them and share their memories.
Please join us in celebrating mom’s life on Saturday, September 17th in Montrose, Colorado. See additional information and RSVP below please.
