Evans's obituary

Evans Paul Oubre, 54, passed away on March 8, 2025, in Gonzales, Louisiana. Born on February 11, 1971, in Louisiana, he dedicated his life to mastering various trades and sharing his talents with those around him.

A true craftsman at heart, Evans possessed an extraordinary ability to work with his hands. Whether wiring a home, shaping wood into something beautiful, or repairing an engine with precision, he approached every task with skill and dedication. His artistry extended beyond the mechanical—his paintings adorned restaurants and churches, each brushstroke a testament to his creativity and passion. Through both craftsmanship and art, he left behind a legacy of beauty and ingenuity.

Beyond his many talents, Evans had a spirit that radiated warmth and humor. He was known for his silly sense of humor that could bring laughter to any room. His loyalty to family and friends was steadfast, a quiet but unwavering presence in the lives of those he loved. Above all else, he took immense pride in his children—his greatest joy and most cherished legacy.

Evans found solace in artistic expression through drawing and painting, where he could translate emotions into vivid imagery. The outdoors also called to him; fishing provided moments of peace amid life’s currents. These passions shaped his days and filled them with meaning.

He is survived by his children: Chasity Oubre, Alyssa Farris, Trinity Oubre, Aaron Oubre, James Oubre, and Joseph Manning; his brother Adam Oubre; and his sister-in-law and caretaker Megan Ventress. He was preceded in death by his parents, Deborah and Evans James Oubre, as well as his son Logan Oubre.

Evans will be deeply missed by those who knew him. May the memories of his laughter and artistry bring comfort to those who loved him.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Greg Bizette, MD, and Kadi Templet, RN, for their unwavering support and exceptional care during Evans’ cancer treatments. Their dedication, compassion, and expertise made a profound difference in his journey, providing not only medical assistance but also comfort during a challenging time. They are truly grateful for their kindness and commitment to his well-being.
