Evan's obituary

Evan Michael Saran, 33, passed away unexpectedly on February 1, 2025 in his hometown of Chepachet, RI.

Evan was a man of many passions, boundless creativity, and an unmatched heart. His eclectic taste in music reflected the depth of his soul-- always exploring, always searching for something that resonated. He had an undeniable talent for photography, capturing moments in a way that made the ordinary feel extraordinary. His love for motocross and dirt bikes spoke to his adventurous spirit, always chasing the thrill of the ride.

Evan was captivated by the vastness of outer space, endlessly fascinated by its complexities and mysteries. He often pondered what could be out there, his mind reaching beyond the stars. But he wasn't just a dreamer- he was a builder, a creator. If he could imagine it, he would find a way to make it, pouring himself into every project with a sense of purpose and ingenuity.

Among the things he loved most was his truck- a source of pride, always immaculately cared for. He had a deep love for animals, especially his late cat, "Poopy", who held a special place in his heart. But above all, Evan cherished his people. He was generous, caring, and empathetic- always the first to lend a shoulder, to listen without judgement, to be a friend in the moments when it mattered most. He knew that friendship wasn't just about showing up when things were fun, but about standing by someone when life got heavy. He encouraged those struggling to reach out for help, wanting nothing more than to be part of making the people in his world a bit better, and a bit happier.

Evan was also a romantic. He believed in love- the kind that was deep, real, and enduring. He gave love freely, hoping that one day, the love he put out into the world would come back to him in the same way. He was the type of person who saw beauty in connection, who believed in the power of relationships, and who longed for a love as strong and unwavering as the love he gave to those around him.

Evan's greatest love was his family. His father, Dennis, was his best friend, and his mother, Karen, was his world. He never missed an opportunity to brag about his sister Ashlin, her husband Matthew, and their growing family. He was a proud uncle to Ashlin's children, Brayden and Noella. Sadly, he never had the opportunity to meet Noella before his passing. His loss leaves a void in the lives of countless friends and relatives who loved him deeply.

The best way to honor Evan is to be the kind of friend he was- the one who notices when someone is struggling and takes the time to check in, to remind them that they are not alone. If you or someone you know needs support, please remember that help is available. Some local resources include:

At this time, a memorial service has not been planned, as the Sarans take this time to grieve. Friends and loved ones will be informed when arrangements are made.

If you are looking for another way to honor our friend Evan, a donation in Evan's name to one of the resources listed above will help to continue his legacy of compassion and support for those in need.

Evan was a light in so many lives. May we carry that light forward in the way we love, support, and show up for one another.
