I was incredibly shocked and saddened to learn of Evan's passing. We worked together for nearly 2 years and he was always a kind and calming presence in the office. No matter how stressful things would get he always had a positive attitude and a belief that it would all work out. He was a good man who gifted my wife and I a lovely card as well as some books when we had our first child and I will always think of Evan when I read those books to my son.

My thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to his family and friends.

I'm a friend of Tracy's and was around when they first started dating in Baltimore. We discovered we were birthday buddies, as in, born in the same month and a few days apart. We mused about that and Tracy was tickled about that as well. We have done a few birthday parties back in the day, both Tracy and Evan's, and I remember they would take turns planning & gathering people to celebrate their birthdays. Probably the most I would interact with Evan, and when I had most insight into his personality, was in these planning emails! He was very, very thoughtful of Tracy and in those emails it was evident he just wanted so much to gather her closest friends during these times because he knew how much that made her happy. I've been so sad as this unfolded over the months...and am so touched that even in his last goodbye Evan wanted to encourage us and share his hope in Lord.

Evan, you are the essence of good, kind, responsible, thoughtful, wise , loving and true. It was an honor to work beside you and an honor to be in conversation with you.  You are what it’s all about. May God hold you gently and firmly as you held this world gently and firmly.
Praying for covering of healing to you and your beautiful family.
It is difficult for me to express my condolences since the loss of a great friend like Evan is a great pain for me. I try to find comfort knowing that I believe we have a better place beyond this earthly state. I ask my heavenly father that your family finds strength and peace knowing that Evan was loved by those who knew him and was, on my list, one of the best human beings I have ever met.

Dear Tracy, Isaiah, Emma and family,

We are so sorry for your loss. We really appreciated our long lasting friendship with Evan and with your family. May God comfort you during this difficult time.

Much love,

Luisa, Ofu, Isaiah and Maria Fairfax Obekpa and

Rosalind Fairfax
