Evan was such an amazing person to be around. I’ve got to know him through Vous church and we all loved him very much. He always greets with a big smile and open heart. He was very mature and always willing to share his experience and love for Jesus. He loved dancing and I’m so so glad, I got to share these last great memories with him. He will be dearly missed 🙏🏾.

I’ll never forget that in a moment in my life where I had so much hurt and anger in my heart, Evan gently and kindly reminded me of the kind of life that we were called to live. It takes a lot of courage and love to rebuke in the spirit, and truthfully I was, and am, better for it. I’ll always remember him as a man who confidently loved the Lord and had the special gift of moving with kindness, never judgement.

No words can ever make this right. We are broken hearted imagining what you are going through. He had Ed’s good looks but definitely had his mom’s heart. We are praying for your healing and comfort. Jay and Yonna

Evan was a year ahead of me in our fraternity. At first, I just knew him as the hilarious, talented, super smash bros extraordinaire guy. Then, at our camping retreat, when most people had gone to sleep, he stayed up late into the night singing worship songs beside the campfire with a few brothers. I can still see the passion for Jesus in his face, as he cried out for His presence. He always struck me as one so sincerely seeking Christ. This verse was on his heart and he lived it: “One thing I have desired of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple.”
Psalm 27:4
I love you brother

A pledge interview with Evan, as Evan is my great grand big brother in our fraternity family line. This is when I got to meet him, as pledges had to interview current brothers or alumni. As an older alumni who just left UF as I came in, he went out of his way to make time to get to know me.

Evan was the kind of person who captured your heart from the very first interaction. He had the spirit of a child, yet the wisdom of a man of God. His absence leaves a void that will be felt deeply, and our group will never be the same without him. I feel very blessed and honored to have crossed paths with him. People like Evan are a precious!! He allowed his light to shine bright, touching everyone who was lucky enough to know him. 🤍🤍

Hearing this news shook me to my core. I went to college with Evan, he was in the sales program with me at UF. Evan was one of the NICEST guys I have ever met in my life. To his parents, my heart breaks for you and I want you to know you did the most incredible job raising him. He lit up a room and made things just…. better. He would always talk about his sisters (and how beautiful they were) and the love he had for his family. I am truly at a loss for words. My heart is broken. I will be praying for the Pughe family.
