Eva's obituary
Mrs. Eva Zell Harden, age 94, of Lyons, passed away in the early hours of the morning on August 26, 2021, at The Oaks at Bethany following an extended illness.
She was born on April 3, 1927 in Vidalia to the late Ephriam Calvin and Jannie Halligan Cannady. She was a lifelong resident of Toombs County, was a homemaker for most of her life, and was the oldest living member of the Oasis Church of God.
Mrs. Eva was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Harden in 2009; her son, Ronnie William Harden in 2019; her daughter, Peggy Ann Cowart in 2011; five sisters, Daisy Osborne, Florence Dexter, Laura Belle Sealey, Nellie Lofton Folkston, and Maudie Womack; and one brother, Buddy Cannady.
Mrs. Eva is survived by three sons, Wayne Harden (Joany) of Dublin; Wendell Harden (Connie) of Harvest, Alabama, and Joseph Harden of Lyons; three daughters, Vera Bryant (Earl) of Hazlehurst, Judy Newsome of Blue Ridge, and Diane (Allen) Heatherington of Lyons; two sisters, Sue Toole of Johnson Corner, and Frances Bourghltzer of Jacksonville, FL. Twenty-eight grandchildren; fifty-two great-grandchildren; and eighteen great-great grandchildren also survive.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, August 27, 2021, from 6:00PM until 8:00PM in the Vidalia Chapel of Roberts-Stewart Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Mrs. Eva Zell Harden, will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021, at 4:00PM in the Vidalia Chapel of Roberts-Stewart Funeral Home with Pastor Gilbert Womack to officiate and Shelly Dover as a special speaker to deliver a eulogy. Graveside service and interment will follow at the Ohoopee Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Wayne Harden, Wendell Harden, Nicholas Harden, Manning Poole, Timmy Toole, Earl Bryant, Keith Poole, and Michael Reddish.
