I was blessed that Mrs. Geron trusted me with her healthcare for so many years. When I retired in 2012, she wrote a beautiful poem for me and mounted it in a wooden shadow box with lovely flowers. It touches my heart every time I see it even today.❤️
Over the years, we have seen each other at various community events. Unlike others who expressed disappointment that I changed careers, Mrs. Geron always championed my new endeavors and regularly commented on my FB posts. Several weeks ago, she sent a DM, saying that she had read my first novel 3 times. She asked when the next one was coming out, but I heard," Get a move on!"😀
When I asked if she wanted to read the new manuscript, she answered in her usual "sharp as a tack" way. She asked about editorial protocols and timelines! I assured her that I just wanted her to read it for pleasure and give a reader's perspective. She went into the hospital before I could mail it.😔
I wanted to do the Klingon death yell to alert the heavens that a great warrior was on the way, but I know God knew who He had called home. He needed a powerful angel to watch over us and keep us straight.😀
At her service, it was clear how much she meant to her family and what a great impact she had on the planet. When it's my time, if my grandson can say even a pinch of what Mrs. Geron's grandchildren said about her, I will be humbled and thrilled.
May God's love support, shield, and surround you in this difficult time and beyond. May sweet memories soothe you. Rest in the knowledge that love never dies. Your Gammy will always be with you. You will see her face in the mirror and in the faces of your children. You will be surprised to hear her voice and her wisdom coming out of your mouths.🤣 You will also feel her hugs in the love you share as a family for all generations to come.
God bless.
