Eugene Smith was born on May 24, 1949 in Morgan, GA to Eugene Smith, Sr. and Christine (Hall) Smith Wester.

Gene was a very hard worker who established his strong work ethic by laboring in the field along side his parents, as sharecroppers.

As the oldest of the family's eleven (11) children , Gene assumed significant responsibility helping to raise his brothers and sisters after his father passed away.

Gene married Annette Brown in 1971 …
