I remember all of your unconditional love and kindness, from deep of my heart. I wouldn’t be able to go through the darkness without you. Whether we know each other before or not, I feel that you become part of my life in a deeper and more meaningful way. I may not express my gratitude to you individually but you’ll find your name in the credit page of the memorial video that I made for Eugene, from his own eyes. The video is composed of the photographs he took from the year of 2012, to 2018, only a small portion from his archive.

You must have experienced shock, sadness, and deep reflection on the meaning of life, as I do. But with the video, I hope we can celebrate his short but beautiful life, rather than grieving on the loss. In this way, death is no longer a scary but inevitable destiny, but a great opportunity and a journey towards an unknown world. From death, we know better of life, and we know that real happiness doesn’t come from illusory “goods” we are chasing after to satisfy our egoism in ordinary life, but from the high awareness that we are all connected and serve for a bigger goal.
