It was an honor to have met Mr. Gleason! He didn't really talk about his military service but he did tell me what prompted him to join.    He told me he was listening to the radio on Dec 8th, 1941,  one day after attack on Pearl Harbor, and after hearing the speech given by President Roosevelt he joined the military the next day.    Mr. Gleason was a true hero to me and one of the few remaining World War II Veterans left.
