Eugene Cliff Case
December 26, 1947 - March 30, 2025
A man of deep faith and service, Rev. Case served as the minister of Woodville Presbyterian Church for 42 years (1974–2016) and Bethany Presbyterian Church. His dedication extended beyond the pulpit as he also served as the stated clerk for Grace Presbytery for 23 years.
Known affectionately throughout the community as “Preacher,” he held many roles in public service. He worked for the Woodville Police Department for 30 years, the Wilkinson County Sheriff’s Office for a number of years, the Volunteer Fire Department, and as the town court clerk. Additionally, he served as a teacher at WCCA, as Coroner, and worked at the local bank.
He graduated from Morehead State University in 1970 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, then continued his theological studies at Columbia Theological Seminary from 1970 to 1971, followed by a year at Calvin Theological Seminary in 1971. He then completed his theological education at Reformed Theological Seminary, earning a Master of Divinity degree in 1974.
Eugene is survived by his loving wife, Rachel; his sons, Thomas Jonathan Jackson, Preston Brooks, and Robert Lewis Dabney; his daughters,Laura Elisabeth and Emilie Kathleen; and his granddaughter, Anna Blaire. He was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Orlowsky (Walt), and his parents, Coburn Clift and Stella Hamm.

Preacher’s instructions for burial were to have a private graveside for the family. A memorial service for the church and community will be planned at a later date
