Ethel's obituary

We mourn the loss of Ethel Thompson, born on March 10, 1943, and passed away on June 2, 2025. Ethel was an extraordinary person whose absence will be felt deeply by everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her loving family which includes her daughters, Peggy Trout and Brenda Brummet, and her sons, Mark Thompson and John Thompson. Her granddaughters, Jessica Buck and Ashley Hunter, will remember her fondly and will dearly miss their beloved grandmother.

Ethel had a contagious joy for life and valued spending quality time with family and friends. She was an avid fan of television shows like NCIS and Golden Girls. But her enjoyment wasn't restricted to just watching television; she delighted in playing Bingo and Yahtzee, and was a formidable competitor in both games. Blue was her favorite color, a hue that perfectly encapsulated her gentleness and calmness.

Among the many talents Ethel possessed, she had a distinct passion for piano. It was not just an instrument to her, but an avenue to express herself. The beautiful melodies she created will forever resonate in the hearts of those who heard them.

Ethel's legacy is profound and timeless, rooted in kindness and forgiveness. These virtues she tried to instill in her loved ones are the best lessons she had to share. She believed in the power of love and kindness, and in always trying to forgive, no matter the circumstance. That is the legacy Ethel leaves behind, a testament to living a life rich in compassion and empathy.

Her passing is a profound loss, yet we find solace in the memories we shared with her. Ethel will be profoundly missed, not just for the extraordinary person she was but for the unforgettable impressions she has engraved in our hearts. As we remember her, we will honor her legacy by living out the lessons she imparted to us. May her soul rest in peace.
