Ethan's obituary
It is with a broken heart that we announce the passing of Ethan Ryan Bert, who was welcomed into the loving arms of God on April 17, 2023. We are devastated by his sudden departure from this world and cannot wait to embrace him again in Heaven.
His positive and dedicated spirit, combined with his entrepreneurial nature, shone through in everything he did. He will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his many passions, inspiring all who knew him.
Ethan's positive and uplifting spirit had a profound impact on all those whose lives he touched. He loved sports, and basketball was a sanctuary for him where he found joy and formed lifelong friendships. He loved to travel and attend church. His heart was rooted in faith. As a foodie, he was always on the hunt for new experiences. However, it was his tender heart that truly set him apart. His empathy and unwavering compassion had no limits, and he always went out of his way to help those in need. His passing is a reminder of how much the world needs more individuals like him, whose kindness and generosity serve as a symbol of hope. Though he is gone, the echo of his laugh lingers, a sweet reminder of the joy he brought to our lives.
His love for his family and friends was immeasurable.
There is a saying, "Your son will open your eyes and broaden the way you see the world." This statement is true for Ethan's parents. He is survived by his loving mother, Katie Payton, and stepfather, Terrence of Pennsylvania, and his father, Joshua Bert, and wife Amy of Florida. As the song goes, Ethan's mother used to sing to him as a baby, "Hush my love now don't you cry, Everything will be alright, Close your eyes and drift in a dream, Rest in peaceful sleep, I know there's one thing that you showed me, just give love to all."
He was the best big brother. Survived by his siblings Kamdyn, Karson, and Kowen Kopp, Treyson Payton, and Carmela Conzone-Payton, all of Pennsylvania, as well as Liam Bert of Florida. In the favorite lyrics of his siblings, "Here's a few words from your kid brothers, if you admire someone you should go ahead and tell um, people never get the flowers while they can still smell um, an idol in our eyes, God of the game, heart of the city, never be the same, never be another, number 1 big brother."
Ethan's passing is also mourned by his grandparents, Robert and Debra Henry, and Barbara Gallagher of Pennsylvania, and James Gallagher and Wayne Bert of Florida. He is survived by his uncles and aunts, Patrick and Amy Cornell, Timothy and Melissa Gallagher, and Matthew and Susan Henry, as well as his cousins Brynn, Knoxx, Blayze, Stellen, Rowyn, and Jack. He is also survived by his great-grandmother Peggy Bizich in Florida.
Ethan's heart belonged to his girlfriend, Lea. "On the first day, you told me I was your twin flame from a past life and tonight, the moon is full, so take me anywhere outside I cannot kiss you yet, you're magic."
The passing of Ethan has left a void in the hearts of his dear friends Diarmid, Brendan, Curtis, Alex, Trenton, Jvohn, Danny, and Jordy. Our thoughts also turn to Kyler and Wesley, who were important members of Ethan's circle of friends and will be forever missed.
Let us offer a prayer of protection for all those impacted by this tragic loss. In moments like these, we are reminded of the wisdom in 1 Peter 5:8, which caution us to remain vigilant against the enemy's prowling ways. As we embark on the difficult journey of healing and recovery, let us draw strength from the knowledge that Ethan is now being held in Gods loving embrace. May this profound truth comfort us as we grieve his loss. Let us also remember the words of Ephesians 6:10-18, which remind us to put on the full armor of God. May we find comfort in words of Romans 12:19, do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.
In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to yourself, your dreams, and your ambitions. By supporting your own goals and chasing your own dreams, you will keep Ethan's memory alive and embody the same tenacity and passion that made him the incredible person he was.
