Just when you think it might get easier to deal with this loss each year you find the exact opposite to be true. Ethan, I miss you more that words can express - and more than my emotions are properly prepared to process and endure. I love you dearly and my heart breaks for every single day that we are apart.

Ethan you will be greatly missed. I had a dream about you today. We were both teenagers again, you looked at me and said “can you tell my mom I love her”. I woke up feeling deeply uneasy and began to search your name. I am deeply, deeply saddened to find this website with your obituary on it. You lived in one of our rental properties years ago sometime during our early 20’s. I was deeply troubled then with my own issues then and you helped me rebound by being such a good friend to me then. I should have moved in with you into the spare bedroom of that place like you wanted me to do. You were always so kind and nice to me. We saw each other grow and we grew apart as our life paths differed in our early 20’s. Ethan you provided me much of the motivation I have today by being there for me even during some of your darkest days. You were so endlessly caring, thanks. I wish I could go back in time and have spent more time with you years ago. Sorry. I miss you and love you brother.

I’m floored by this incredibly sad news. Ethan was my friend over the course of almost 10 years from Florida to Tennessee where he came to live with me for a while. Ethan had the biggest heart and was always more concerned with helping others out with their struggles than he was with himself. He was just a genuinely awesome person. I have many memories of laughing like crazy with him and at times he was like a brother to me. I’m so so sad to hear this. I wish I had gotten to talk to him one more time and remind how much I appreciated him and the times we had together. He will be truly missed and I’ll carry his memory with me.

Our entire family is so saddened by this devastating news. I always thought Ethan was so handsome, smart, creative and he possessed such charisma! Eric, Leslie and family - Our deepest sorrow on hearing this news. My heart breaking for you all. Such a wonderful boy, which is how I’ll always remember his darling handsome face. When Emil and I visited your new home after you first moved in the two of us walked down to the water dock area and Ethan was there alone standing in the sun, while we watched he put his finger up to hush while he hand fed a heron that he had trained to take a small piece of food. His face lit up and he smiled big. Emil and I smiled too; enjoying that very quiet and exquisite moment in time. May you be surrounded now by those who love you, I know there are many. Your YA YA friend forever, love Vickey and Eliot.

Ethan, I remember when you were nine and visiting your grandmother in Tallahassee one summer. I brought you over to swim in the pool and while we were talking you told me that you wanted to be a chef and open your own restaurant. You had a vision of a room in your restaurant for an archeology dig for children to find hidden treasures after the meal so the parents could relax and talk. I was impressed that someone your age thought about the entire family being able to enjoy a night out together. I will always remember that special time.
