My favorite memory is when Mama Etty came to our college apartment for the weekend. She cooked for us and cleaned our entire apartment and did it with no complaints or without anyone asking her. Mama Etty always treated me like a daughter and just simply being in her presence always brought a sense of peace and happiness. Her smile lit up every room she entered. I’m so grateful for the time I spent with her and her beautiful spirit will live on for eternity.

She was brave and so loved by everyone... especially her children. I taught three of her children years ago, and had the chance to speak to her often. I was amazed by her stories of girls being required to serve in the Israeli army. She did not want that for her children so she made her way to America for a better life for them. My Dad was getting treatments at St. Joseph's and I saw her. So pleasant, beautiful smile, beautiful soul.
