Esther's obituary

Esther Young Sue was born on October 17, 1938 in San Francisco to Kay and Chat Young, their second child and first daughter. When the family moved to rural Santa Rosa to have a poultry ranch, she helped run a busy household filled with eleven other siblings. Esther married Tim Sue on October 26, 1958, moved to Porterville and raised their four children - Angela, Steven (Patti), Kevin (Margo), Teresa (David). Her love for her family was abundant and her life was busy, dividing her time between raising a family and working part time at Tim’s family restaurant business (Gang Sue's) then later, working full time as a bank teller. The family would grow to include six grandchildren (Erielle, Torianne, Matthew, Marin, Micah, McKenzie) and two great-grandchildren (Atlas, Lucy). Esther was a wonderful cook and liked to bake, sharing her talents and knowledge with her children and grandchildren. She had a zest for life and liked to share stories of her childhood, which often let you know of her strength and determination to do anything she took on to the fullest and best of her ability. The love and devotion she and Tim had for each other was a lifelong inspiration to their family and friends and continues to flourish as they are now reunited. Esther passed away peacefully on February 6, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. “Though she be but little, she is fierce.” - Shakespeare
