I meet Mrs. Williams as a patient. Her quiet demeanor but firm stare demanded that I do play with her..lol she was always with a peaceful aura and light spoken. We had many conversations but the best ones where to ones about her children. She lit up whenever she talked about any of them. She gave me comfort when I questioned my own mothering and for that I will be eternally grateful. She will be missed, and I pray her family and close friends find peace with her transition. May God hold you all close together and any tears that will be shed, just keep in mind she was one of a kind good person. Sending love and hugs to you all..
Sending condolences, prayers and love to the Williams/Persons family. Mother Essie was a sweet, precious Woman of God. I loved to hear her sing. She even made my wedding outfit some years ago and was so patient with me during the process .
My condolences to my beautiful family. I will miss Aunt Essie, but I am keeping sweet memories of her. Aunt Essie loved little children, I remember her always holding or taking care of someone's baby. Aunt Essie also had a powerful voice, her singing reminded me of Mahalia Jackson.
My condolences to the family. Praying God's comfort and strength.
I spent a many of days and nights with this loving family on Montello Ave. Although we drifted apart, God reconnected us years later through my son and Tiffeney's son. To this day, I can remember her praying and singing praises.
Aunt Essie will be missed. The young adults would gather at her home often to eat and hang out in DC. I gained a family for life with the Williams clan. I love you all and my prayers are with you from Florida. Uncle Leon I love you forever!
My condolences to Essie's family. I first met Essie when I joined the church she was attending. She was my Prayer Partner, Baby Sitter and a great Friend. I will missed you my dear friend. You have fought a good fight of Faith and you have won the Battle, Rest on Mother. While I would be working she would fixed my Thanksgiving Dinners for me, a great friend indeed.
Sending much love and prayer to the family. Montello Ave was a safe haven for me as a young adult. Deacon Williams and Ma Essie treated me as one of their own. Great memories!
