Ms. Swarbrick Valenti was a graduate of Mother Cabrini High School in New York City in 1950. Her love for ballet, teaching and caring for children started from a young age as she opened her own dance studio in the Bronx, NY in the early 1950’s and shortly thereafter became a Foster parent. After marrying and having her own (6) children, Rusti continued Fostering children. The family moved to Paramus, NJ (1962) and then after becoming a single Mother, (1969) she started her own in-home child care center. She helped raise and provide love and care for 100’s of children from the Bergen County, NJ area and then Winder (1985) and Bethlehem, Ga. Children and parents alike fondly called her “Aunt Rusti” throughout her 50 + years of being a child care provider and after. Aunt Rusti had a great love for animals, especially dogs. She had many dogs throughout her life. She is predeceased (2021) by her loyal and loving Chihuahua companion, Abbey. Rusti’s favorite “titles” were Mom, GRANDMA and Aunt Rusti. The world lost an incredibly special woman. She was kind, smart, quiet, strong and had a wonderful sense of humor. She enjoyed her grandchildren more than anything else in the world. Her pizza dates, comforting phone calls and words of wisdom will be missed by all who loved her. Rest in love and peace Grandma, Mom, Aunt Rusti.
