Ernest Hubert Paul "Buddy" as he was known to everyone who loved him (80 years old) was born August 19, 1940 to Ernest Hilburn & Lizzy Paul. He passed away April 11, 2021. He loved his town of Apalachicola and never wanted to leave. The river was his favorite place and you could find him on it in the green flounder skiff he made himself. Always willing to help a friend in need (he never met a stranger). He was a commercial fisherman all his working life and he worked hard to provide for his family. He loved to serve his community by working on other fishermens' boats and motors even when they could not pay him. He had many accomplishments in his 80 years but was most proud of his sons and grand sons. He loved all kids and was known to have candy stashed for them.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother James, sister Bettymae, and his wife Mary Frances. He is survived by his brother Allen (Sally), his sons: Mark (Angie), Daren, and Tracy. His grandsons: Josh, Christian, Manny & Jesse. His great granddaughter Gracie and his great grandson Lincoln. His nieces and nephews: Madeline, Jimmy (Tina), Skeeter, Barbara (Roger) and Terry. Numerous cousins, extended family and close friends.
He will be laid to rest at Magnolia Cemetery beside his wife Mary Frances on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 1:30pm, the viewing will be at 12:30pm at the cemetery.
