Ernest “Ernie” Russell Heston, born on August 15, 1926 in Fairfield, Iowa, to the late Bertha (Stansberry) Heston and the late William Heston, passed away at age 91 on June 30, 2018 in Yellow Springs, Ohio. Ernest earned a BA from Parsons College in 1951, MA from Northwestern University, and Interior Design degree from Parson’s School of Design, NYC. From 1946 to 1947, Ernest served in the US Air Force in World War II and he also dedicated his career to being an interior designer and manager in furniture sales until he retired in 1988. Ernest was married to Marguerite (Delpierre) Heston. He is survived by his sons, Tim Heston, (wife Cindy Heston), Daniel Heston, (wife Leah Heston), and Patrick Heston, (wife Mary Heston); daughters, Melissa Heston, (wife Mary Kay Smith), and Ann Adams, (husband Mike Adams); and grandchildren, Ali Heston, Nicki Heston, Veronica Heston, Samuel Holman-Smith, Emma Holman-Smith, Henry Smith-Heston, Zoe Heston, Katherine Heston, and Crosby Adams. He also leaves behind his dog, Fritzi. He belonged to Alpha Kappa Chi Fraternity, American Legion, and the Knights of Columbus. He also served in the Americorps Vista program. Services will be private.
