Ernest's obituary
Ernest Bouldin Harper III, Bo as he was known,60, of Lake Bluff, IL, passed away on December 14, 2022 after a brief illness. Bo was born in Pittsburg, PA to Catherine Weld Harper and Ernest B. Harper Jr., known as Peter.
Bo was predeceased by his mother, Catherine and his father, Peter. He is survived by his cousin Suzanne Coughlin of Cohasset,MA. and many, many warm and loving friends . Soon after he graduated from Michigan State University he began teaching scuba diving which took him all over the world. He was one of the most adventurous people anyone has ever had the privilege of knowing. He enjoyed his yearly skiing trips. Every summer he helped crew in a sailing race to Mackinac Island. He loved flying his Bonanza and hunting. Bo was very proud of his role as Vice Commodore at the Waukegan Yacht Club. He also loved his motorcycle road trips, including India and most recently the California coast. His most recent vacation was his annual family trip to St. John USVI, which he looked forward to each year. If he wasn’t traveling he was spending time at his home away from home in the Dominican Republic. His true passion was his cooking and his photography. Bo was also very involved in the community, especially the Open Lands. Bo was so full of life and made lifelong friends in everything he did. He threw himself wholeheartedly into everything he did.
There will be a celebration of Bo's life on May 31st from noon to 4pm at the South Pavilion, Lake Forest Beach , Lake Forest.
