Ernest Roy 'Ernie" Grote Jr age 79 of Chloride, Arizona went home to be with the Lord on February 20, 2022. Ernie was born to Ernest Roy Grote Sr and Lillian Bryant-Grote on November 10, 1942 in Vacaville, California. He was an accomplished guitar player and drummer who enjoyed playing gospel music at his church as well playing blues and golden oldies rock n roll songs from his youth as well as covering some country songs such as "Silver Wings" by Merle Haggard. Ernie was also an excellent automotive mechanic and he loved working on antique cars and riding motorcycles. Ernie is survived by his loving partner of 31 years Sylvia Whitney, his children Mark Grote of Chloride, Arizona, Robert Grote (Xylina) and David Grote and 1 grandchild Phoebe Grote of Oklahoma, 1 sister Carol Stowe of California and 1 niece Yvonne.  No services will be held per Ernie's final wishes and Sutton Funeral Home will be in charge of cremation service.
