Erin's obituary
Erin Sullivan, of Lynnwood, WA, passed away unexpectedly on May 27, 2024. She was 42.
Erin was born on September 20, 1981 to Michael and Meg Sullivan in Tacoma, Washington. She grew up in Federal Way, Washington and attended St. Vincent de Paul Elementary School and Bellarmine Preparatory School, Class of 2000. She married Neil Virnig in 2007 and had one child, Mikey, who was born in 2012. They lived in Lynnwood, Washington. Erin and Neil divorced in 2022, but they remained a close team in co-parenting Mikey. When Erin had Mikey, she became passionate about enriching the lives of special-needs children and recently worked as a paraeducator at Chase Lake Elementary in the Edmonds School District working with special-needs students. She was pursuing a teaching degree to advance her career in this field. She was also a member of the Public School Employees Union PSE SEIU Local 1948.
Erin touched the lives of many. She had a keen sense of humor and an infectious laugh. She loved to portray her mood by wearing funny t-shirts and sweatshirts emblazoned with her current emotions. She was an avid fan of professional football and never missed a Seahawks game. She loved animals, especially dogs and cats, and rescued them from shelters. Mostly, she was an exceptional mother for her untiring, nurturing care of Mikey. She had deep bonds with her immediate and extended family, and Auntie Erin was especially loved by all her nieces and nephews. We will miss her greatly.
Erin was predeceased by her mother Meg Huff. She is survived by her son Mikey, father Michael Sullivan, step-mother Patty Sullivan, sister Shauna Sullivan Stewart (Ryan), step-sister Jaime Harriman (Uriah), step-brother Matt Gleason (Jacqueline), step-brother Sean Gleason (Brittany), step-brother Devin Gleason (Kelsie), step-father Jeff Huff, step-sister Marissa Flood (Jon ), step-brother Marshall Huff (Mackenzie ) and many nieces and nephews.
