Erin Cherry (1983–2025)
Erin was a passionate wife, mommy, sister, daughter, dentist, entrepreneur, and friend to everyone that she met. She lived her life with a smile and always gave everything she had to those around her and in need. Erin Michele Cherry, 41, of Montrose, Colorado, died in Denver Hospice care on January 22nd, 2025 of multifocal glioblastoma multiforme.
She was born in Montrose in 1983 to Dr. Anthony and Margaret Richards, who she cherished and looked up to until her passing. She always hoped to emulate the childhood that she had been shown for her family. Erin was an avid runner who loved being in the sunshine. Lake Powell was her favorite vacation spot with San Diego and Mexico being close additional favorites.
SCHOOL AND WORK - Erin attended Fruita Monument High School before studying Psychology at U.C. San Diego. She completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the Arthur A Dugoni School of Dentistry in 2012, and worked as a dentist and owner of Wynkoop Dentistry until her hospitalization in 2024.
SPOUSE - Erin met the love of her life, Daniel (Dan) Cherry in the summer of 1996 while attending a WyldLife summer camp called Oakbridge, in Ramona California. While the two didn’t start dating until after they graduated college, they kept in touch and Erin always hoped to someday make Dan her own. They were married on May 27th, 2007 in the Sunset Cliffs neighborhood of San Diego.
CHILDREN - Erin and Dan were always excited to start a family of their own and patiently waited until Erin had completed her doctorate to have kids. Erin loved raising her children Adelyn, Amelie, and Brooks, and was excited to watch them play soccer, ski, and boat together as a family.
SIBLINGS - Erin held Cole and Kristen close until the end. She always looked forward to spending time with her siblings and their families.
PETS - Erin loved her newest furry friend Mogul. She had started therapy dog training with the hope of Mogul becoming a frequent contributor at Wynkoop Dentistry.
FRIENDS – There are too many friends to list all of them. Erin loved everyone and poured into those that she met. Her closest friends at the time of her passing were Matt and Sara Volkmar whom were part of her “framily”
JOB – Erin was passionate about her Wynkoop Dentistry Wyldkatz. She always hoped to create an environment where her team members could grow and become the best version of themself.
CHURCH/COMMUNITY GROUP – Erin was an active member of the Flatirons Genessee campus and Westwoods Community Church.
HOBBIES – Anybody that knew Erin had probably heard of her passion for skiing. Her favorite mountain to ski at was always Telluride which is conveniently close to Ridgway, Colorado one of her favorite parts to visit in the state. She also loved being a part of her kids' lives and whatever they were interested in. This included soccer, skiing, arts and crafts, and spending time with other family friends.
Erin will always be remembered for joyful smile and the way she cared for her community and those around her. Erin left a lasting imprint on many, and will be remembered for her efforts to serve those around her. The memories she shared with those around her will be remembered long into the future.
Erin is survived by her family Daniel, Adelyn, Amelie, and Brooks.
Her service will be held on Saturday, February 22nd, 2025 at Westwoods Community Church located at 7700 W Woodard Dr, in Lakewood, Colorado.
