To the Foss-Allendes: I am so sorry for your loss. I knew Erika through soccer and while we only played together briefly, I always remembered her as a vibrant, genuine, and compassionate presence during what was a challenging time for a high schooler to feel like she could be herself. She was so cool, and talented, and humble, someone I want to be more like in my day-to-day. I’m so glad and grateful to have ever crossed paths with her.

Rest in Peace and in Power, Erika 🩵

I was just trying to call and…
I was just trying to call and wish you a happy birthday. Text you just before midnight because I couldn't stay awake. I can't believe this. You are loved and missed. The world is noe missing an angel. You were the best friend I've ever known. I love you Erika to the moon and back.

Erika found beauty in absolutely everything. She had a love for family, friends, art and nature that reminded me to slow down and enjoy all the little things. The best memories are the ones where we grabbed a coffee, had music playing and just drove different back roads to see the mountain.

My condolences to her family and loved ones.

I don't know where to start. I've known Erika since she was 16. I met her when she would come in to see her brother Travis at Starbucks when we worked together. Eventually I got to work with Erika. She's a beautiful, smart, amazing, fun person. I always enjoyed working with her and talking to her. She always called me mama JOJO because I was like her work mom. One day she was upset and I went to check on her and talk to her and I gave her a big hug. She laughed and cried saying I give really good mom hugs. I miss her so much and so heartbroken she's gone. Our last conversation was when she interviewed me for being native American for school and then we caught up. Before we got off the phone we both said we need to get together soon. Also we miss you and love you. I'm greatful to have that as my last memory with her. Sending love to her family.

Erika was a unique fiery soul who  made me laugh so much. I remember working with her at Starbucks, and how she dressed up as me on Halloween one year. She had a love for art, laughter and we once had a special bond. My heart breaks for the Allende family, and her friends who she left behind.  This hits me especially hard, after having my own mental health issues peak around the same time.  I just remember I always called me my little sister, that I was supposed to have.  I hope she has found her peace.

We are beyond words.  So deeply grief-stricken for you.  She was so caring and sweet and will ever be fondly remembered.  Our prayers are with you always.
The last time I talked to Erika was at a family gathering about five years ago. She had a piece of paper in front of her and was in the process of drawing a human figure and I remember being absolutely astonished at how talented she was as an artist, saying something like, "I can barely draw a stick figure".  Such an amazing talent she had and was always so friendly.
