Eric's obituary

Eric Scott Trotter, 52, passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2023 from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.

Eric was born on January 7, 1971 in Rockford, IL and is the son of Earl Trotter and Barbara Trotter Benson. Eric graduated from Harlem High School in 1989. Eric was united in marriage to Connie Jackson on May 5, 2020 after 13 years together.

Eric spent 10 years working with his father, Earl, and brother, Skip, at their family company Trotter Manufacturing, Inc. His wife, Connie, and him moved to Celebration, FL in 2020 to live out their dream of living in the Sunshine state together. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Florida State Seminoles. Eric was an excellent golfer and enjoyed spending his Tuesday's playing in couples league with his wife and parents in Tampa, FL. He also enjoyed many fishing trips up to Wisconsin with his dad, especially the one they took this past May that they both will remember for a lifetime. He loved traveling, especially all the crazy trips and ideas his wife planned for the two of them. He was a quiet and reserved guy, but those who knew him knew how much he loved and cared for his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Connie Trotter, of Celebration, FL; stepdaughter Caila (Jordan) Kearns of Atkins, IA; parents Earl and Vonni Trotter of Loves Park, IL; brother Skip (Kathy) Trotter of Rockford, IL; in-laws Gerald Jackson of Beloit, WI, Deborah Jackson of South Beloit, IL, and Gregory (Ruthie) Jackson of Des Moines, IA; granddaughter Laiken Beverly Kearns and grandson Cash Allan Kearns; nephews and nieces Jake (Katherine) Trotter, Lauren Trotter, Emmeline Jackson, and Everett Jackson. He is also survived by his biological mother Barbara Benson and his children Cody, Cassidy, and Chloe Trotter.

He is predeceased in death by his grandmother Dorothy Small and his paternal grandparents Earl and Genevieve Trotter.

A celebration of life is to be held at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in his name at a later date. Donations may be sent to Mrs. Connie Trotter; 1920 Jackson Street, Beloit, WI 53511
