Eric's obituary
It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of Eric Scott, born on June 10, 1973, who departed this life on July 4, 2025, leaving a void that will be filled by the beautiful memories he left behind.
Eric is survived by his adoring spouse, Mariah Andrews, and their step-son, Maverick Andrews. His lasting impact also extends to his family members Anthony Martin Jr., Ivan Wiley, Lee Wise, Wanda Murphy, Sarah Collignon, Desiree Crawley, Caleb Wiley, and Kip Rooks.
He will be dearly remembered by his brother-in-law, Liam Holmes, and sister-in-law, Kiley Holmes. His parent-in-law, Sandra Hacker, and mother-in-law, Anna Holmes, will remember him fondly. Eric leaves behind his charming nieces and nephews: Aaliyah Martin, Kyleigh Martin, Julia Hardin, James Murphy, Lincoln Murphy, and Walter Watts. His memory will also live on in the hearts of his aunt, Carolyn Scott, and his cousin, Bryant Sturden.
Eric was predeceased by his beloved mother, Armenia (Scott) Palmer, his brother, Terry Murphy, his family member, Charles Wallace, and his brother-in-law, Brent Holmes.
A man of many interests, Eric had a strong affinity for anything barbecue and enjoyed playing the game Sequence. His favorite way to exercise was to go walking with his family. Eric spent his recreational time playing video games, playing with Maverick, and spending quality time with his loved ones.
Among Eric's favorite books was 'Change your Thoughts, Change your Life' by Dr. Wayne Dyer, and his favorite movie was 'Wall-E'. His heart was deeply moved by causes, particularly suicide prevention. Known for his calm demeanor and joyful outlook, Eric was characterized by kindness, intelligence, peacefulness, and happiness.
The vibrant red, his favorite color, was a reflection of his inner vitality and joy for life. Among the wisdom he shared, he often said, "If something costs you your peace, it costs too much. Love and disrespect can't live in the same house. Everything will be okay."
The legacy Eric leaves behind is a lifetime of beautiful memories, and he remains an inspiration to all who knew him. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family in this difficult time.
